Rex Hossi Horan was born Rex William Horan in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia at 1014 in 1972. He could have had a beer at that time because the pubs in Kalgoorlie are open that early, but he doesn’t drink.

He was a pianist first, a euphoniumist second, a violist third and a bassist fourth. He played in orchestras before he played in bands, but only just. He studied classical music at the university, and jazz at the conservatorium.

He made some records and did some tours in various outfits (nurse, mechanic etc) in various bands, and settled in London in 1997. He won some prizes along the way for his playing. Four of them were cakes. He is in The Who’s Who of Australian Rock Music from the fourth edition onwards, although in less detail.
